It provides a vivid picture of history as lived day-to-day, without the filter of hindsight. I just added a complete table of contents, referencing every one of the nearly 2000 items. At the beginning there are links to each of the seven volumes, and contents for each volume appears at the start of each volume, with links to every single item for the first six volumes and links to selected items in the seventh volume. (Current technology wouldn't let me link to them all -- I reached the limit of how many links could be included in a single document.) The product number is the same. So if you bought this file before, you should be able to download the new version at no extra cost.
