SEO Tip #1: Make sure what is between your "title and /title" tags co-incides with both your primary search term and your product. For instance: Use the description "Great Angel Book" along with the title "Angel On Board" as opposed to just one or the other. The text between the title tags should read: Great Angel Book - Angel On Board.
SEO Tip #2: Apparently it is 'old hat' to use the bold (b and /b) tags use the word STRONG and /STRONG instead. This is much friendlier to search engines and helps with web page optimization.
SEO Tip #3: Be sure that the meta description and the title have many common keywords and key phrases. This will enhance the relevancy when the search engines grade you.
SEO Tip #4: Be sure that the meta keywords use the same words that you've used in the description and title. This also enhances the relevancy rank. DO NOT REPEAT KEYWORDS - you will get slammed by the search engines if you try and trick them this way!
SEO Tip #5: Before any graphics, have at least one line of test and use the header tags (h1 and /h1) to bookend it. Have this be as close to your title text as possible. Using the header tags will give the search engines a clue that this is important text and if it reinforces the phrases already used, that will improve your relevancy also.
SEO Tip #6: When using images on your pages, name them for what is in them. For instance, the buttons I use on GreatAngelBooks are angel wings - and I use two versions, light blue and dark blue. So the file name is darkblueangelwings.jpg. This
gets me traffic via google images because of the name. If I used the word "button," I'd not get any of that traffic. Whether or not that traffic turns into customers is debatable, but they'd not have an option to turn into customers if I named the image something non-descript.
SEO Tip #7: Have serious content on your page. This page for instance now has seven paragraphs on it talking about web page optimization. I've repeated that phrase a couple of times on this list, but didn't spam you with it, so it will be judged favorably in the search engines.
